FLINT, MICHIGAN:

For Cleveland Cavaliers forward Emoni Bates and artist BabyFxce E, home is Michigan — but their mindset is bigger than any one place.

“I really just want to motivate people — where I’m from and across the world,” Bates shared at  Vision: West  2024.

BabyFxce E echoed the drive: “You ain’t got no goal, you’re not going to get anywhere," he shared. “Ask yourself, Alright, what am I going to accomplish this week to get to the bigger goal?’”

For both, growth came from movement — new places, new challenges, new perspectives. “I feel like I learned so much just being out of town,” said BabyFxce E.

Bates agreed. “I was the same way. I grew up playing basketball. Being able to travel and go compete with the top people in the country, it was fun for me."
